Originally from the UK, my passion for the outdoors and rural environment started in my youth as I spent the summers on my grandparent’s small orchard in Worcester.

Between the summers I had the good fortune to be brought up in various countries as my father, a civil engineer, worked on large projects around the world.

After moving to NZ in 1990, my parents decided a lifestyle change was needed and they bought a small farm in the North Island – where I enjoyed all aspects of rural life.

I moved to Timaru in ‘96 to study at Aoraki Polytechnic and after graduating with a Diploma in Business Management and Outdoor Recreation I started my own small business in the recreation sector.

After selling the business in 2001 I moved to the North Island and have been in sales ever since, firstly in the real estate sector and more recently in construction and earthmoving equipment.

I’m now based in Fairlie and it has been refreshing to return to South Canterbury and see the positive changes and progress in the area.

My spare time is spent with my family and out enjoying this fantastic outdoor playground we have in NZ. Whether it be kayaking down a river, hunting up in the hills, or mountain biking on the trails – you can be certain I’ll be making the most of life.

After fifteen years as a stock Agent/Auctioneer I went farming for twenty five years owning a four thousand acre sheep, beef and deer farm so I have experienced the highs and lows of farming. In 2000 I decided to join Gordon Handy Machinery and have enjoyed working with this team for the last 8 years.

Any spare time is spent with my wife Adrienne, two grown up children and four grandchildren.

Hi, I have been involved in farming all of my life managing many types of enterprise and latterly working on the other side of the fence selling products. I have a mechanical background which has helped me advise many customers on the best product for their needs. I joined Gordon Handy Machinery Limited in 2005, having had a previous 3 years experience in the agricultural sales industry. I enjoy selling the top products in their area and advising customers of the correct application for their use, utilising all the features and benefits of the product to maximise their return on their investment.

On the odd occasion when I am not working, on behalf of my customers, I enjoy sharing quality time with my wife, Adele and supporting my family and their farming endeavours.

I was born in Gore and went to High School in Temuka. I joined the Army as a regular force cadet and went on to train as a chef. After 10 years I left the Army to follow my wife in her career in the Air force. The Air force brought us to Marlborough and we have lived here since 1995 raising our family.

Deciding to take a change in working direction I moved into sales with John Deere lawn care and finally tractors and machinery. During this time I also gained experience in Vineyard development and contracting having developed vineyards for clients as well as vineyard management. I have been a grape grower in Marlborough for the last 6 years and my specialty is vineyard tractors.

Hi my name is Greg Lyons and I am the Sales Manager for the Northern region of Gordon Handy Machinery Ltd. responsible for sunny Marlborough and Nelson or commonly referred to as "Top of the South". I am based in Blenheim which is an awesome place to live, however has taken a bit of getting used to, as I am a born and bred Southlander. I moved from good ole Southland in 2004 and have come to enjoy all that this area has to offer a growing family.

I have been involved in the tractor industry for around 18 years with the latter part of my career working with "John Deere". This is without doubt the pinnacle as I am able to offer my customers the premium brand in the market today. I can use my many years experience to guide you to the correct solution for you.

I am also responsible for overseeing the used tractors within the group where we carry an extensive inventory of many different brands and models in all price ranges. If you are looking for a used tractor - chances are I have "Just what you are looking for".

I also enjoy working within Marlborough's buoyant wine industry, which is fast moving and has one of New Zealand's highest populations of John Deere two wheel drive and narrow tractors.

While not at work (not very often as my wife tells me), I try to spend as much time as possible with my wife Deborah, 7 year old Twins Amber and Cameron and 10 year old Brittany which all keep me busy and broke, but hey that's what life's all about. Other interests which I enjoy are motorsport, rugby and fishing and I would love, in the future, to own my own boat to enjoy all that the Marlborough Sounds can offer.

I have been working in the rural industry all my life, starting out working for our neighbours on Banks Peninsula, on their orchard and dairy farm and progressing to agricultural retail sales on the West Coast, and after a few years back in Canterbury. I ended up in Blenheim still in the agricultural retail sales sector, where my experience, both in store and on the road as a company representative, has added to my skill sets and knowledge I gained from my on farm practical experience. This mix of skills and knowledge allows me to bring a practical, professional approach to understanding and satisfying customer’s requirements and matching the right product to get the job done.

I joined Gordon Handy Machinery Limited in April 2008, after 4 years in agricultural retail sales in Blenheim. I am really enjoying expanding my knowledge of John Deere products, as well as meeting many new and existing clients and advising them of the advantages gained from the John Deere product range.

During my spare time I enjoy relaxing with my wife Rachael and our two young children. When time permits I also manage to sneak away hunting on the odd occasion, or to the range for some target shooting.

I served my time as an Automotive Mechanic in a small country garage, working on all types of machines from chainsaws to buses. I have been involved in the small motors industry for approximately 24 years.

As you would expect, from my background, I started in the workshop within Gordon Handy Machinery Ltd.(formerly Agrimech) before moving into sales. This has proved to be a huge learning curve, which I thoroughly enjoy. Customer satisfaction is my top priority and ensuring that you get the correct grounds care product or compact tractor to meet your requirements generally achieves this.

Outside of work I enjoy hunting, playing darts and also watching most sports. In my younger years I played a lot of cricket, tennis and target shooting. My wife, Fiona and young family take up all the other time available.

Gday, my name is Fraser Ibbotson.

I hail from the deep south (Manapouri) where I grew up on sheep, beef and deer farms. As a young chap I was always first to volunteer to do the tractor work, developing a real passion for agricultural machinery. Through to my teens I worked for various contracting businesses while on holidays from Southland Boys High and Lincoln University where I studied a BCom Agr.

After university I went on to work in sales for Suzuki in Christchurch selling cars. Through this position I learned the importance of really listening to the customer and understanding their needs.

I have recently returned from the big O.E in Britain and Europe where i had a great time meeting new people and seeing the world. I enjoy a good laugh and have a relaxed, easy attitude.

Now in my sales role with Gordon Handy Machinery in Kaikoura I can combine my backgrounds in farming and in sales to provide customers with the best product and service available.
