Guidance Systems
Hands on or hands off, precision guidance helps you pack a lot in your day and even more in your pocket.
You can now utilise AutoTrac™ SF1 and SF2 while harvesting corn!
The new AutoTrac™ RowSense™ system accurately guides the vehicle down
each pass in the field using mechanical feelers which are installed on
the 600 Series Corn Head. The combine is guided by the data gathered
from the feelers, which is then aligned with the corresponding GPS data
to guide the combine along the rows.
Harvesting at a consistent speed around curves, through waterways
or weeds is easy with this automatic guidance system. AutoTrac™
RowSense™ helps everyone achieve real precision, and once you have seen
it, you won’t want to harvest without it!
AutoTrac™ RowSense™ offers many benefits including the ability to
utilise AutoTrac™ in corn that was planted with or without AutoTrac™,
efficiency in down corn conditions or on curved rows, reduced operator
fatigue, and reduced crop loss with accuracy and efficiency on every
pass across the field.
AutoTrac™ RowSense™ Universal
AutoTrac™ RowSense™ Universal brings the same benefits of
AutoTrac™ RowSense™ to your mixed harvesting fleet. Designed to operate a
corn head and paired with the AutoTrac™ Universal Steering Kit, this
versatile solution allows even less experienced operators to run like a
pro. AutoTrac™ RowSense™ Universal utilises new dual-row sensors and GPS
data to take corn harvesting to the next level by providing hands-free
accuracy and productivity.
AutoTrac™ RowSense™ Universal is compatible with any combine that
is approved for use with ATU, as well as select models of new and older
John Deere and non-John Deere corn heads.
The AutoTrac™ SF1 activation is the software activation required
to operate automatic guidance at the SF1 level of accuracy (+/- 25 cm
(10 in.) pass-to-pass within 15 minutes).
AutoTrac™ SF1 is a broadacre guidance solution that allows you to
take your hands off of the steering wheel as the machine travels down
the most optimum pass in the field. You still have to turn the machine
around on the end rows, but by simply pressing the resume button,
AutoTrac™ will again regain control and start steering the vehicle down
the adjacent pass.
Upgrade your accuracy
The AutoTrac™ SF1 activation can be enhanced to operate at the SF2
level of accuracy (+/- 10 cm (4 in.) pass-to-pass within 15 minutes).
To promote the AutoTrac™ SF1 system to an SF2 system, update the
software on the display with the AutoTrac™ upgrade activation and add or
upgrade the vehicle receiver to SF2.
The AutoTrac™ SF2 activation is the software activation that is
required to operate automatic guidance at the SF2 level of accuracy (+/-
10 cm (4 in.) pass-to-pass within 15 minutes).
AutoTrac™ SF2 is a row-crop guidance solution that allows you to
take your hands off the steering wheel as the machine travels down the
most optimum pass in the field. You still have to turn the machine
around on the end rows, but by simply pressing the resume button
AutoTrac™ will again regain control and start steering the vehicle down
the adjacent pass.
Upgrade your accuracy
The AutoTrac™ SF2 activation can also operate at the RTK level of
accuracy (+/- 2.5 cm (1 in.) repeatable) when it is paired with an RTK
vehicle bundle and appropriate RTK base station.
AutoTrac™ Universal Steering Kit 200
The AutoTrac™ Universal (ATU) Steering Kit 200 is a vehicle
steering kit used for automatic guidance in older John Deere or
non-John Deere vehicles. Pair this vehicle kit with either the original
GreenStar™ system

The ATU Steering Kit 200 is approved on over 450 vehicle platforms
to allow growers with older or non-John Deere equipment the ability to
use John Deere AutoTrac™ throughout the growing season.
Note: The AutoTrac™ Universal steering kit is not approved for
use in open station cabs. Only install inside an enclosed cab.
GreenStar™ Lightbar
Get started with guidance
Reaping the benefits of investing in guidance is easy with the
GreenStar™ Lightbar package. You can reduce input costs and enjoy a good
view even in low-visibility situations such as fog, dust and at night.
All you need to get started comes ready to use in a single box. The
GreenStar™ Lightbar teamed with the StarFire™ receiver can be set up
quickly for immediate use on all machines in your multi-coloured fleet
and for multiple applications.
Simple and Economical

Lightbar is a simple, economical parallel tracking display. The 27
tracking indicator LEDs tell you whether the machine is on course or
not. You can then steer the machine to the left or right based on which
lights are illuminated.
It can be run as a stand-alone unit or as a companion to either an
original GreenStar™ display or GreenStar™ 2 2600 display.
Multi-Coloured?
Regardless of what “colours” you’re running on your farm, the
GreenStar™ Lightbar & StarFire™ receiver will fit onto any vehicle.
All it takes is a 12 V power source.
NOTE: The GreenStar™ Lightbar is not approved for open-station vehicles.
iGuide™ is an industry-exclusive, passive implement guidance
system that automatically
guides the implement onto the guidance path through repositioning the
tractor. As a result the tractor may be off the desired guidance line
at times, such as sloping ground or on curves, to ensure the implement
tracks along the desired guidance line.
iGuide™ offers you many benefits, including: optimised machine
efficiency, reduced fatigue, and the ability to more accurately execute
practices such as inter-row sowing.
iGuide™ provides precise implement placement
Your goal is to have inputs, such as seed or fertiliser, placed
into the ground the most accurate way possible. With iGuide™, the
accuracy of the automatic guidance system is now at the implement.
Having a second StarFire™ receiver located on the implement allows the
tractor to guide the implement through the field with additional
accuracy, even on curved passes and sloping terrain. With the additional
accuracy at the implement, you can see up to a 60%
improvement in input placement than when just running AutoTrac™ alone.
iSteer™
Precision counts – especially when planting or
working potato fields, inter-row seeding, row crop, cotton, or specialty
crops. That’s why you need iSteer™, an active implement guidance system
designed to increase the accuracy and repeatability of your tractor and
implement in straight–track, field applications.
How does it work? The iSteer™ system automatically steers the
implement to the guidance line by providing satellite data correction to
the implement steering mechanism so both the tractor and implement can
operate on the same line.
Putting iSteer™ to work in your operation is easy. All you’ll need is:
-
A John Deere 8000 or 9000 Series Tractor (either wheels and
tracks), or large-frame 7030 Series Tractor, equipped with integrated
AutoTrac™
-
An AutoTrac™ SF2 activation on your 2600 or 2630 display
-
Two StarFire™ 3000 Receivers with an RTK activation: one each for the tractor and implement
-
An iSteer™ Controller
-
Implement steering mechanism
The result is reduced input costs, less disturbance of
post-emergent crops, and easier operation, especially on guess rows.
iTEC Pro™, which stands for intelligent Total Equipment Control,
is an innovative module for the GreenStar™ 2 2600 display. This Pro
Module coordinates vehicle and implement functions with end-of-row
turns. By automating these functions it allows the implement and
machine functions to be performed consistently on the headlands or
internal boundaries as well as positions the machine correctly for the
next pass through the field.
iTEC Pro™ offers many benefits to operators, including: optimised
machine efficiency, reduced operator fatigue, and the ability to perform
consistent end of row turns. iTEC Pro™ is an industry exclusive
product and demonstrates John Deere's commitment to being the leader in
the precision ag industry.
I
ncreased efficiency resulting in input savings
A potential reduction in headland or internal boundary overlaps
and skips may not sound like much at first, but farmers who add it up
hectare after hectare could be looking at a substantial savings
potential with iTEC Pro™. The more irregularly shaped the fields and the
more headland turns occurring will help this product pay back even
faster for some farmers.
Using iTEC Pro™ will allow operators to perform faster, more
efficient, hands-free headland turns with a consistency that's hard to
match, no matter the field conditions or experience level of the
operator. When dialed in, iTEC Pro™ performs consistently and
accurately, increasing in field efficiency by saving growers money and,
more importantly, time.
